Below is a link to an article from the December 2016 issue of Seapower, the
magazine of the US Navy League. The article is about the destroyer USS
Ward and her commanding officer on December 7, 1941. That commanding
officer was LT CDR William Outerbridge who, 11 plus years later on July
22, 1953, became the commanding officer of the USS Los Angeles CA-135.
